Adult echocardiogram

An adult echocardiogram (echo) is a visual representation of the heart’s activity. Ultrasound (high-frequency sound waves) from a hand-held wand put on your chest delivers photos of the heart’s valves and chambers, allowing the sonographer to assess the heart’s pumping function. To assess blood flow across the heart’s valves, echo is frequently paired with Doppler ultrasound and colour Doppler.
